Spicy Sunday

Before I begin, I apologize for the half eaten cone. It was melting really quick and I felt like it was my duty to ensure no ice cream was being wasted. This little chocolate cone looks pretty run of the mill, very ordinary. Let me tell you that it is anything but that very thing! I spent this past Sunday hanging around Kensington Market as it was pedestrian Sunday (sans cars) and chose to venture into this little ice cream shop with a sign advertising home-made ice cream. If I had room in my belly for more food I probably would have sampled the various food stands that set up shop on the streets (re. fish kebabs, Tibetan style dumplings, butter chicken and much more). Anyways, back to the cone. Without fail, I always gravitate to the chocolatey forms of ice cream flavors and this case was no different. I had a chocolate-cherry-chili ice cream scoop on a sugar cone. The cherry flavor was very minimal which is how I like it but it was very spicy and the whole time I was eating it up I was sneezing as well. It was almost as if I sniffed up a spoonful of chili powder. In hindsight, I should of asked for a sample and would have chosen a more mild flavor but it was totally worth the sneezing.

What are you craving?!

It's 9:35am and I can't  seem to get out of my head (and stomach) this incessant craving for sushi. Last night's small taste was what fueled this craving and all I can think about are the delicious morsels of salmon and tuna on tiny beds of rice, or I could do without the rice. Either way, all I want are raw pieces of fish with miso soup on the side.

I am particularly fond of Japanese spicy mayo in my sushi. The flavor is sweeter than the run of the mill mayonnaise in western grocery stores.
Seriously try it out. I know they make many sushi varieties featuring mayo (spicy or  non). Ahhhh, off I go. It really is too early for sushi so I'll be drinking my green tea in hopes of forgetting what it is that I currently need. Yes, NEED!

Love x 100

Love his voice in this song

2 Cents

I find that some of the most negative people out there are the ones the are the most fearful of change. To comfort themselves, they will actively criticize the other person's decision, situation or whatever else they find 'offensive' to their personal worldview. Well listen up you naysayers, change is inevitable and can very much be a positive thing so rather than oppose it and ostracize those around you, find ways to work around it/adapt and you may end up happier knowing you were a part of something good.

All in all, people don't want to hear you complain. If you're going to be a downer, do everyone a favor and keep it to yourself and redirect it elsewhere. Otherwise, you may end up finding yourself more alone and bitter. People don't like being around negative energy.

!Ola Amigos!

I'm back. Trip was fantastic! Keeping this post short as I still have to unpack, make dinner, etc.

My favorite meal in Cuba was at a restaurant in Coco Beach:

Rum and coconut juice to start
Delicious lobster with rice and banana chips which I later smothered in a garlic and water blend
YUM-O
