Spicy Sunday

Before I begin, I apologize for the half eaten cone. It was melting really quick and I felt like it was my duty to ensure no ice cream was being wasted. This little chocolate cone looks pretty run of the mill, very ordinary. Let me tell you that it is anything but that very thing! I spent this past Sunday hanging around Kensington Market as it was pedestrian Sunday (sans cars) and chose to venture into this little ice cream shop with a sign advertising home-made ice cream. If I had room in my belly for more food I probably would have sampled the various food stands that set up shop on the streets (re. fish kebabs, Tibetan style dumplings, butter chicken and much more). Anyways, back to the cone. Without fail, I always gravitate to the chocolatey forms of ice cream flavors and this case was no different. I had a chocolate-cherry-chili ice cream scoop on a sugar cone. The cherry flavor was very minimal which is how I like it but it was very spicy and the whole time I was eating it up I was sneezing as well. It was almost as if I sniffed up a spoonful of chili powder. In hindsight, I should of asked for a sample and would have chosen a more mild flavor but it was totally worth the sneezing.
